Antioxidant action

Reduces oxidative stress (a harmful effect of free radicals) within the cells of the superficial layers of the epidermis, with proven efficacy greater than Vitamin C.

Reduces the activity of type I matrix metalloproteinases (MMP-1), which degrade collagen fibers, one of the structural proteins of the skin.

Fight Oxidative stress

Only 20% of skin aging is determined by biological and genetic factors; the remaining 80% is directly linked to the exposome, which refers to the sum of stressors related to our environment and lifestyle.

Various external factors such as UV rays, pollution, stress, tobacco, alcohol, diet, and certain medications accelerate the production of free radicals within the cells. The skin's natural defense system then becomes overwhelmed, causing significant oxidative stress.

As a result, unneutralized free radicals deteriorate the skin tissues: the cells suffer and sustain damage at various levels (both internal and external), which impairs their functioning and inevitably accelerates aging.

The expert behind GSM10®

Professor Pierre-Louis
Teissedre

Professor Pierre-Louis Teissedre earned his degree in oenology from the Faculty of Sciences of Montpellier in 1989 and holds a PhD from the University of Montpellier. His distinguished career includes time as an Associate Researcher in the prestigious Department of Viticulture and Enology at the University of California. Today, he is a Full Professor at the Institute of Vine and Wine Sciences (ISVV) at the University of Bordeaux. He currently heads the Applied Chemistry Laboratory at the UMR 1366 Oenology research unit, following his tenure as Deputy Director of the INRAE UMR 1219 Oenology Joint Research Unit, where he led the Oenopro Group.

Professor Teissedre is an expert in the Wine Technology group and serves as President of the "Safety and Health" Commission of the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV). He is the director of the Oenoviti International network (67 partners) and is responsible for the National Diploma of Oenology as well as international relations at the ISVV.

He has authored over 200 publications and papers in peer-reviewed international journals and is the co-inventor of 14 patents.

FROM VINE TO SKIN

Unlocking the antioxidant power of our grapes

Since 2009, Professor Pierre-Louis Teissedre has been collaborating with the Famille Perrin to characterize the 13 grape varieties grown on the family estate. Their approach is rooted in upcycling: the goal is to repurpose and utilize grape pomace, a winemaking by-product that is extremely rich in valuable compounds.

This research has made it possible to isolate and select extracts from three specific grape varieties for their remarkable abundance of antioxidants: Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, culminating in the creation of an antioxidant complex of unprecedented potency.

A unique synergy dedicated to the skin microbiota

The innovation behind the GSM10® active ingredient also stems from a biotechnological approach designed to optimize skin microbiota health. By integrating the Lactobacillus paragasseri strain stabilized by tyndallization, a gentle stabilization method that preserves the structure of the bacterium, this complex stimulates the growth of beneficial microorganisms naturally present on the epidermis such as S. epidermidis.

This postbiotic action, combined with purified pomace extracts, creates a unique synergy that strengthens the skin's barrier effect.
